One big event held once a year is called Museum Mile. It’s basically an art party comprised of 23 city blocks with no cars. It spans on Fifth Avenue from 82nd street to 105th street and includes seven major city museums in this vicinity. On this day all of these art museums allow free access and you will also find live bands, entertainment and art activities for the children in the street. Every day you will be sure to find an event to your liking. Meeting new people at art receptions held in Soho or Chelsea is not only fun but it can be a wonderful wine tasting event!

Many receptions offer complimentary wine to enjoy as your eyes graze the scene for the hottest art works. Another example of the rich culture happening in NY takes place in summer time. It’s one of a true New Yorker’s favorite past times and it’s called Summerstage in Central Park. Since 1985, Summer Stage has been presenting an eclectic mix of the finest musicians, dancers and spoken word artists from around the world to perform in Central Park.

Movie Night at the Bryant Park
On a smaller and more intimate scale you have a choice of Bryant Park movie nights and Battery park city concerts at the Labyrinth Farm. When you decide to live in NY, you really don’t need to travel the world as much. Everything comes to you from all over within 5 blocks. It makes for a very busy calendar, so get ready!
