The super tall and super skinny Steinway Tower is rising in Billionaire’s Row.
This location of buildings clustering around 57th Street is now becoming one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the world. Everything you could want is nearby, top designer stores, the best restaurants in the city, luxury hotels, and of course the Park.
The Steinway tower with a micro footprint of sixty feet wide has made it the thinnest skyscraper anywhere. This challenging and most difficult engineering design is being built by JDS Construction Group and designers SHoP who have appended the tower to the 16-story landmark Steinway Hall at 111West 57th Street for this mixed use development expected to be ready for occupancy in early 2018.

Billionaire Row started with One57 which people thought would be the tallest residential building on Manhattan then came 432 Park Ave which now dominates the skyline, and the Nordstrom and Steinway Towers on their way up.
Steinway Tower is the luxurious extreme of the super slim typology. It will be over 1,400 feet high and only have 60 units. The tower will offer an exclusive, centered perspective on Manhattan’s Midtown neighborhood, affording uninhibited views of the entire urban region.
Residences ranging in price from $14 million to $100 million will be uber luxurious full floor units and upper floors will have lofty duplexes. The tower’s form is derived through an unconventional interpretation of what is possible when working with the requirements of the Midtown zoning envelope. By multiplying the height of each setback to present a dramatic feathered rather than a stepped profile will be a distinctive part of the new skyline.
